According to Virginia Woolf the common reader "differs from the critic and the scholar. He reads for his own pleasure rather than to impart knowledge or correct the opinions of others. Above all, he is guided by an instinct to create for himself, out of whatever odds and ends he can come by, some kind of whole." These are my conversations with the "common reader" that I happen to come by in my day to day.
In the town of the Movie, Television, & Music industries, and infamous traffic jams this blog proves that Los Angelenos (and people in general) still read books. We may be seen as urbanites stuck in our cars for most of the day, on our blackberries or iPhones 24/7, and reading gossip mags/blogs and scripts (of our friends or our own). But the same town that produces 'escapism' to the masses still escapes with books!
I love to read myself and am always curious to see what others are reading -- makes for great suggestions and wonderful conversations with strangers along the way. It's fun to learn a little bit about people from the books they read
