"Will you still love me if I wet the bed?"

Who doesn't love getting presents in the mail? A couple days ago I received a small package from my friend, Sam Kusek, a former intern and fellow comic nerd. Okay, so he wins in this department because I barely started dabbling into graphic novels but we can still nerd out together. My eyes lit up when I realized what I was about to find in said package! 'Twas a copy of Liz Prince's "Will You Still Love Me If I Wet The Bed?" I had totally forgotten that he promised to send me this comic. See, a few weeks ago we had an IM sesh discussing our thoughts on the Scott Pilgrim movie. I then asked him for some comic suggestions and he told me about Liz Prince. He was going to her book signing and said he'd grab me a copy! Sam even got it autographed for me! Pretty, pretty, pretty neat.

During last night's bout of major caffeine-induced insomnia I decided to get through my jitters & shakes by reading this comic in bed around, oh, say, 3:45am?! Wow, folks. Just...wow. Not going to lie - I had a smile on my face the entire time.
Each page contained cute little autobiographical vignettes about Liz and her homefry, Kevin. Each scenario about their relationship is absolutely quirky and absolutely seamless. I adored their adoration for each other. Everything about this comic is just so simple...and honest. And I stepped back and thought to myself, "Man, this is what a relationship should be like. Complete comfort and an uber special friendship! Peas and carrots. Peas...and carrots."

Needless to say, I hug this book in my heart. It made me happy because it reminded me of a similar relationship I was in where we were complete dorks. And it got me excited about being a complete dork with the next person who, too, can appreciate me when I'm a cocoon monster, and tell me my armpits smell like celery.

CORN ON THE COB KISSES!!!!
